Health and Wellness...More is better...but there's a catch?
Hey Friend and Lifestyler,
How are you doing...thanks for reading today's myth bustin' article.
There's a myth that keeps going around, again and again like the fountain of youth.
It goes something like this...
You need to lift weights every two days because after 48 hours your body will begin to shrink and lose whatever muscle you've recently built/gained.
Oh boy, this crazy idea has caused a lot of men and women alike heartache and injury.
How much more time have you been forced to spend in the gym?
I just laugh when somebody tries to tell me I need to workout every 48 hrs.
Actually, I'm surprised that this myth even has legs to stand on.
I realized this was totally a waste of time for myself years ago because if you've ever tested it for yourself, you'll already know it's pure garbage.
How do I know? Well I was hiking for about three weeks one summer and I did not have access to any weights or fancy gym equipment.
When I returned, I then hit the gym again for the first time in 3 weeks, and it felt like my muscles had shriveled up....
I mean I hadn't gone to the gym for ages.
Anyway to cut a long boring story short, I decided to be happy if Icould even lift half of what I had done before I left.
The funny thing is I went about setting personal records for myself in every exercise I attempted.
After 3 weeks off from weight training, I’d returned to the gym fresher, much stronger than before and I had not lost even one ounze of strength.
Nowadays I actually show more progress every exercise, and every workout by training less often because I've discovered exactly how much time off my body needs to completely recover from each workout.
You'll discover the truth the smarter you become with your training, the more time off you'll need before being able to go back into the gym completely healed and ready to push past what you did last time...
Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed the expert tips.
I invite you to come back again next week for another exciting myth buster.
Yours truly...johni (aka mr juls)
